The Cycle Inn will again be in attendance at the event on 12th Dec offering a free bike tune up prior to the race on a first come first served basis!

 

Anyone registered for theTuff Trax will get a 20% discount on accessories between now and Race Day so no excuse not to have your bike in top shape for the next race!

Refreshments will be supplied by The Brew Crew

Post race tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate, sandwich and fruit provided

We will have 2 available classes:

"Sport" - consisting of 1 lap Run / 1 lap Bike
Sport Race will Start at 11am

or

"Expert" consisting of 1 lap Run/ 1 Lap Bike / 1 Lap Run / 1 Lap Bike

Expert Race will Start at 12 Noon

1 Run Lap will be 4.3km (~150m climb) and should take between 20 & 45 mins

Mountain bikes will be required and helmets must be worn

Cost to enter race on-line is €35

There are no additional on-line entry charges or 1 day/ annual race license requirement for these events and club/ group discounts are available.

Minimum age to enter is 18 on race day

Should you need to hire a bike or brush up on your riding skills then Niall and Tarja at biking.ie can help you out.

The first Tuff Trax Off-road Duathlons was held in the grounds of Kilruddery House on the outskirts of Bray on Sunday 21st Nov.

The course was challenging and with heavy overnight rain the terrain proved muddy but general concensus was that it was a great course and setting yes

Winner in the Sport race was The A Team's Stuart Montgomery in a diving finish just ahead of the fastest biker Cathal De Barra (Both 1:04:23) with Eamon Lenihan (1:07:11) in third just 2 seconds ahead of the unlucky fastest runner Anthony Boyle who only lost out on third place when missing the final turn for the finish transition.

Wicklow Tri's Deborah Meehan (1:13:56) proved stongest sport class lady ahead of Nessa Smyth (1:17:29) and Ciara Mulvey (1:18:57).

In the Expert section Naas Tri's Dave Duke (1:56:09) survived a late bike tumble to take the victory ahead of Peter O Farrell (1:56:50) and Adrian Hennessy (1:58:28) whilst just behind our sponsor Mick Jordan proved strongest of the vets setting the fastest bike leg of the day (great bikes from Cycle Inn Obviouslyyes) coming in fourth just ahead of the unlucky chain breaking John Doris and the ever smiling Johnny Mc Cabe. IMRA's Melanie Earwaker (2:30:01) performed impressively to win in the ladies expert race ahead of Aideen Keenan (3:05:37).
